Headphone problem

Not being technical minded I'm hoping someone can help, just bought and setup a Sony Bravia KD-49XG80 TV, I'm hard of hearing but my partner is not, so I use wireless headphones. On the Panasonic just replaced, I plugged them into the earphone mini jack and both TV sound and headphone sound was ok, this new TV cuts out the TV sound when the headphones are plugged in????? Why????? Can't find any way to have both! Can I plug an adaptor into a usb socket on the TV to make the headphones work? Or am I missing something, at 70 I frequently do!

Hi @Techless

Have a look in the Sound Settings. Home -> Settings -> Sound (under TV, normally the first section).

Below is a picture of my screen but yours may be different.

1. Change the Headphones/Audio out to Audio out (Fixed). This means your partner can alter the TV volume without it effecting your headphones. Variable means it will.

2. Turn on Audio to both TV speakers & other device -> On.

You should note your TV does not support Bluetooth headphones.
