I recently tried to use the Playstore to download the "All4" app for this TV. The system asked me to give my post code and then choose whether I had aerial or cable and it then proceeded to search for available services...I don't understand why it did that. It also didn't find any services. But how do I just download an app onto the TV without all that rigmarol...or did I go to the wrong store? Anyone know what I'm doing wrong. I believe the TV is running software version 8...Oreo I think.
Hi Maz,
Have you set-up your Google account on your TV?
Usually downloading apps to your TV works the same way like downloading apps to your smartphone.

Hi Peter
Thanks for the reply...no I don't think I have, I use an iPhone so have never bothered with Google accounts...is that what's creating the issue, I will see if I can log into the TV with a google account.
Thanks for this, I will check when I'm allowed to play around with the TV next. The "who controls the TV" hierarchy tends to be my wife then my daughter, then the cat and next doors dog then me!
Cheers
Maz
Hi @Maz747
The asking for a post code and searching for the channels business is all related to how All4 works (same as BBC iPlayer and iTV), it uses the guide information alongside an internet connection to give you catch up service.
This is strictly application related. Your experience with downloading almost every other app will be network scan-free
