YouTube HDR content is finally available!
You will find a playlist here. However, these clips will be played as SDR on Sonys for now.
With youtube-dl you can find vp9.2 encodings for those clips:

Those are webm however which the native Video app won't play.
We will see whether we will get support for it soon, even for the early 2016 models with the old MediaTek SoC from last year. At least Sony promised that back at CES:
Smart YouTube TV App working flawlessly for me with VP9.2 HDR content. Using version 6.15.81 in PRO Main mode.
What current software version is everyones xe9005 on?
V6.5629

Interesting, maybe I need to completely remove it and re-download as I cannot for the life of me get it working anymore, it just results in a black screen when I try to play any 4K content with Smart YouTube TV on my XE9005.
Colour space still doesn't switch to BT.2020 in Android TV Oreo (as expected)... And to make things worse, to do it manually one now can't switch left and right anymore (at least) in that setting, must go right to the end of the list to set BT.2020.
I'd love to know what's this trend of making things worse on GUIs updates... Not just Android, to be clear. It seems to be the new fashion. I imagine the project managers: "Hey! That feature is cool!! Let's REMOVE it!". SMH.
Sorry to ask but, where is this colour space setting at? I can't seem to find it.

I roughly translate from Italian:
Go To Picture Settings -> Advanced -> Video Options -> Colour Extension
It should be set to "Auto". Select it and you can change to BT.2020 at the end of the list.
Ow God.. No?! IT'S FIXED ON FW 6.6510!!!!! Only after more than 2 years and 39 pages of this thread!!
It works! IT WORKS! No more brownish train, it's quite reddish! The World in HDR looks colourful and not washed! I don't believe my old eyes!
There is still hope!
True. But playback still micro-stutters at 2160p60.
It's not that bad on my KD-49XD7005. The only time it stutters is when changing the volume or fidling with the UI. As long as I let it play without intreruption it doesn't stutter. (even with nerd stats and captions enabled). Even then it loses "only" 1-2 frames.
Also, I guess the OS/YouTube knows this "limitation" because it seems to default to 1440p 60hz...
