Tethering & Portable Hotspot

I've been using it for an hour and it gets sometimes warm or sometimes hot. Is it bad? Will the phone and battery will get damaged?

It's normal that the phone gets warm when using it. WiFi tethering and mobile data may use alot of battery which makes the phone warm.

The phone will give you a notification and turn itself off in case it gets too hot so there's no risk of you damaging the phone or battery.
