Will the HT-XT1 pass through 4K video via the HDMI connection ? I have an NVidia Shield box, which I use to view Netflix through and I have the UHD Netflix package. I currently have the Shield going directly into my TV's HDMI MHL Port and can view UHD content fine. I'm running an optical cable from my HT-XT1 directly into my TV, but I'm not sure I'm getting the best audio connection ?
Would it be better connecting everything through the XT1's HDMI ports - have the Shield's HDMI going into XT1, and the HDMI output from XT1 going into my TV's MHL HDMI port (this is the only HDMI port on my TV that supports HDCP 2.2).
Sorry to babble on, but I just want to get the best possible connection to my soundbase.
Thanks in anticipation.
Hi there
If you can use HDMI for both audio and video, then it is best to use that. According to the specs listed by Sony, it does indeed have 4K and 3D pass-through capabilities:
Just check the settings on the HT-XT1:
