Hello, anyone setup two subs on this receiver. How did you set it up.

Hi Maxigooner,

I'm not sure about a 2 subwoofer setup but the information in this guide may help. Perhaps some other members will be able to give you some insights.

Best wishes,

Ed

Thanks for coming back end. I ended up playing around with the auto config and got two subs to work - works a treat. More richer thump plus with the virtual rear surrounds makes movies more immersive without shelling out a loud of money. Another satisfied customer.

How did you hook the 2 subs up?

The 2 subwoofer outputs on the back

I’ve hooked mine up to that on the amp and the LFE ON THE SUBS Or you could just connect to the red or white phono stereo plugs on the sub

LFE IS CONTROLLED VIA THE ANO AND NOT THE SUB

Hi, you mean you managed to plug 2 subs on your str-dn1080 and they work fine?

Hey that’s great
I’ve already put the 2 subs on rs8 front td center rs6 tears and 2 rsw12 subs and although the sound is amazing the Sony will overheat and switch of to safe mode, I have to leave it a few mins then once it cools down I can fire it back up again albeit at a reduced dB
So not overly impressed especially when I have 2 more sets to instal for back upper and front surround speakers, I haven’t bothered fitting them as I know the Sony won’t cope and would overheat quicker
Not to worry Denon will have a returning customer soon as I never had any issues with overheating with any denon ive used
Thanks

Hi @BazazBack

I just went through the Manual but I can't find reference to Safe Mode or any temperature related errors. There's just a warning that it may get hot on page 58: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4686/1a5e9c2b4143ad36dd5cb360f2a11851/46865241M...

Do you get a specific error code? For what it's worth, it seems to be within specs so there may not be anything to do about it apart from improving air flow.
