Streaming apps not sending signal to Subwoofer

I have a Sony 55FX90 Tv connected to a STR DN 1080 - Recently I upgraded my front L/R speakers. (Have done audio setup its currently a 3.1 setup) Streaming channels/apps such as Netflix, Disney etc no longer send a signal to the Subwoofer (it doesn't work) unless the AMP sound effect is set to Direct. Instead of AFD (Auto Format Decoding), Dolby surround etc as it previously was. Devices (blu-ray player, PS4 etc) connected to the AMP seem to work fine, its just the TV's Apps that seem to have the issue, the TV External Inputs  HDMI signal format is already set to Enhanced, any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Hi there,

Have you tried unplugging the entire set up and reconnecting?

Best wishes,

M

october 2020. just had my radio a few days now after my 1070 model was strike indirect by thunder and short circuited the hdmi connections.

So setting up my dn1080 and what an sound upgrade. Butttttttt no subwoofer activated via streaming straight via the radio. This was working on my 1070. Really liked the subwoofer working while streaming. Most parts of the radio are an update but this is a downgrade. Any fix already? all other sources are working fine with the LFE settings. When using nvidia shield for streaming subwoofer is working. So it is really a thing for the streaming part of the dn 1080.

I  use the streaming everyday and like a good sound. This is why I bought again sony´s radio.

It is not a large vs small speaker setting i checked this.

Hi @johnwick

Does setting the AMP sound effect is set to Direct from the settings help? If so, could you let us know which streaming apps do you use?

It does with most but, not all like on Prime Video it doesn't always work, streaming via (Sony Android TV)

Also previous to upgrading front speakers it was fine.
