For how long has this been going on? Has it been like this since you got your device?  I recommend that you restart your device to safe mode to see if this behavior is caused by one of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

If there is no change I'd recommend that perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note that this will completely reset your device so I strongly advice that you create a backup using Xperia Companion prior to resetting it.
