As far as I know, this is related to software issue.
Main Issue:
Final image processed looks oversharpened, not muddy as in the old camera problem in Kitkat. Problem gets bigger when capturing low-light scene, which basically what I always do.
Camera Issue #1:
Back in Kitkat, M2's camera handle low light by boosting light sensitivy (hence noisy bright image). Now, it handles low light by adjusting the 'digital shutter' slower so the image is brighter (hence laggy live-view display).
Camera Issue #2:
Camera zoom on lollipop has less clarity than Kitkat. I can't give any proof, but surely developer knows this very well. Yes I can crop later, but with the main issue still remain, how can I get a sharp image?

Could you please post if the software build number of your M2 is 18.6.A.0.175 (Lollipop 5.1.1) and if they are all black or white devices ? To find your device’s current software version got to Settings -> About phone -> Build number / version. Keep us updated.
