Will charge faster if i use a 5v 2A charge?

Charging time with the charge that was in the box (5V 850mA) is very slow and takes almost 4 hours which is very annoying. So if i use a charger with 5V 2A will the device charge faster? It is supported?

@Zizolec But where did you get the information about xperias being limited to 1A at charging? EP880 and EP881 have 1500 mA output and work with all xperias.

@Alvyibnferoz You can safely use another charger, with higher amperage.

Yes, you can use a charger that delivers a higher amperage and it should charge faster. Remember to try and use original sony chargers for best charging experience.

I don't think so . Sony phone itself have a circuit to regulate the input amperage. normal AMP for Xperia is 850mA, maby it will charge with max 1A.

If so then it really. It's too low for a phone at this price. Expressionless_Face

I have Xperia M5, in my observation huge difference in charging depends on cable. If i use normal usb cable 80% takes up to 6-7H, on orginal cable it kaes about 2 H.

Yo can try app'k like

Ampere or Charger Tester (ampere meter)

Approximately, as the phone reaches full charge, the current is reduced. You can't force a battery once it's almost charged.
But I would recommend you to use sony chargers only, which have an output of 1500 mA.
