Xperia M2 - Auto rotate isn't working

Hello forum members,

I got my Xperia M2 back a few hours ago after having it repaired. However I've noticed that the Auto-rotate refuses to work even with me looking in settings, display, Auto-rotate.

I've had no luck on getting it to work. Whether it's activated or not, it doesn't seem to respond to it.

As a last resort I've ended up here. If someone could provide a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Reece.

That's correct, its an app that you downloaded (not a preloaded app). it could be a battery app, taskiller, antivirus, ram app, etc.

Thank you for your reply. Auto-rotate works as normalbon Safe Mode and i read on the thread that it could be a 3rd party application that's causing it to fail when safe mode isn't on. Does that mean that it could be an application i downloaded after i got the phone that's causing the issue?

After shutting off my phone from safe mode and restarting it, the issue has resolved itself. Thank you for your help!

In case it happens again:

Please read the accelelometer bug thread!

The auto-rotate will stop again after you receive a longer call. The only way to enable it again will be to restart your phone.

There are a bunch of people with this issue, and we keep waiting for a sollution... more info in the accelelometer bug thread.

Alson we have tried a lot of methods . I have even sent mine into service. and the next day after I got it back i had the same problem again!

Good luck!

I think it is a proximity sensor bug, thats why when you have a longer call the accelerometer and compass stop working. Eventhough they could be different, the proximity sensor blocks them all. To avoid it when you have a longer call, just press the power button and talk like that. Tried by me and it works

I have tried that... but it did not work for me.

My M2 Aqua also has an issue with the proximity sensor(besides de accelelometer bug) . When i am receivig or giving a call, the screen doesen't always turn off, and I keep pressing stuff with my face...i managed to hang up on ppl as well.

Try to reflash the rom, or repair using pc companion. Do you have the latest update C.1.13?
