Received text - where is reply to all?

I have the Arc and received a group text and just realized I can't find the reply to all command. I feel dumb but where is it?

that indeed it's usual for androids, (Droids are from motorola, Androids are all phones w/ Android running as their OS )

the reason for this is bc you can download apps from the market that will do just that, it's a feature that most people won't use, so it wasn't added to the default messaging app, check handcent

also go to

settings -> about phone -> which android version and build number do you have?

you can create a new message then select all the contacts

you should look in the market

market.android.com (its easier to find apps on your computer)

maybe

Handcent

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handcent.nextsms&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEs...

or GO SMS Pro

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jb.gosms&feature=search_result

Oh so it isn't included in the phone? Is that usual for droids? Glad it wasn't just me being obtuse but the phone. Thanks, seems bizarre to me.

Obviously new to Androids, but use to Ericsson's (oh yeah now it's Sony Ericsson and I guess soon just Sony). I thought it was a pretty basic function, I believe all other smart phones (iPhones, Blackberrys and Windows) have it. I guess Google is still developing it's basic functionality.

It's V 2.3.4

b 4.0.2.A.0.42

yeah I think we will get it with Android 4.0 since most of the new functions from Android will be cloud based, and now at least we can backup most of the content on the SD card so even if you update OTA, PCC or Update Service it won't delete the apps, sms, mms, contacts, settings, etc.

We'll have to wait and see

the newer version of 2.3.4 it's 4.0.2.A.0.58, it should be available in your region soon

Hey uliwooly-wooly I tried Handcent and GO SMS Pro last night and still no joy. Unless I am doing something wrong I find it hard to believe how something so basic is so hard to fix. Thanks anyway.

I think it's a bit complicated, lets say that you have messages from 10 contacts, and if there was an option for that then you will reply to all 10 contacts, but right now, what you can do is

open the messaging app -> new message -> add Recipient -> select the users, this will create a new conversation with all those contacts, so every time you send a message through that conversation it will reply to all the contacts you'd selected

Just a incomplete informal comparison of some SMS apps on the SE Arc. Just to point out the "Reply to all" is included in iPhones and Blackberry's by default. It lookslike Hancent is the closest thing to a full feature app. Most have a lot (and I mean alot) of cosmetic settings if you are into that sort of thing.
