VAIO FE21H Graphics card underclocked?

Hi

I have had my sony vaio-fe21h laptop for around 5 months now, and am generally happy. I got it as a replacement from my insurance company for my old laptop.

I do play games quite a bit on my laptop. I looked on the nvidia website, and they state that the clock settings for the geforce go 7400 (the one I have), is 400mhz for the core, and 900mhz for memory. I looked at my settings, and the memory was heavily underclocked. The memory was at 700mhz. Is this a setting on all VAIO-FE21H models, and why is it so low? From what I have read, the geforce go 7400 is getting quickly outdated, and having memory running at 200mhz lower than Nvidia's stock speed is going to make an impact.

If anyone knows anything about this, then please let me know.

Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,

The only solution I can think of is that the graphics card was getting too hot at a normal clock speed so Sony underclocked it for the FE series. Doesn't really justify what they do, but it's more than likely the reason.
