Hi,
So the LCD lightning (dont know if thats the correct name, im not native english speaker, that thing that provide light for the screen) broke for me. Not instantly, gradually. Kept going on and off, sometimes i lightly knocked on the screen and it went on, sometimes i put the phone in my pocket, took it out and it doesnt worked again. Knocked a few times, lightly pressed the phone and it worked again. On and off its been like this but i think its gone for good now. Phone works fine otherwise. Touch is fine. When i turn on the phone, i faintly see the android logo when it boots up. But otherwise its just too dark to see anything. Luckily before it went broke completely i changed the unlocking screen to basic "swap".
Anyway, i have warranty and i want to take the phone to the service. However i dont know if they wont delete all my stuff. For that, i want to make sure and make a backup in Xperia Companion. Now, here's the catch...
I connect the phone through USB to pc, it is detected in Xperia Companion. However, its asking me for access to the data. It tells me to go on my phone to settings -> connected devices -> USB -> sending files.
Without it, i cant make a backup in Xperia Companion. And of course i cant do all those things because the screen is black and i dont see anything!
I have older Xperia M2 and tried to do the same thing, remember where to click, but of course its a little different and i didnt succeded. Tried for 15 minutes randomly touching the screen, thinking about how a bunch of monkeys playing with typewriter could write in definite time a shakespeare play.
Didnt worked.
I literally need to touch correctly a few times on a black screen to allow the access. How the **bleep** do i circumvent this? is there some way?
Any help is appreciated.
I thought of an idea but its an odd one. To someone with XPERIA XA2 do the backup in Xperia Companion while recording with another camera when exactly they click on the screen, with a ruler measuring the distance
