I'm having this issue for over a month now, and I think it started after upgrading to oreo.
The phone restarts several times a day saying that the sim card has been removed and it will restart.
Does anybody has this issue after the upgrade ?
I tried using xperia companion to fix it, and did a factory reset but no luck.
Hi @marriott
So sorry to know that 😕
Did you try to replace your SIM card? It could be a good idea to check if the SIM card is in good conditions!
If the problem persists, i recomend you to contact your local Sony support team or retailer so the phone can be analised by an official or certificated Sony center in case the problem is related to hardware or software!
Please, let me know how it goes!
Hi @marriott, sorry to hear about this.
Have you tried removing the SIM card and mounted it again in your device? On the links below you can see how this is done, for both the single SIM and Dual SIM versions of the Xperia XA1 Ultra.
If you have the opportunity to try with a different SIM card or a new SIM card that would be great as well, just to make sure that this is not SIM card related!
Let me know how it goes!
I have the same issue with Oreo, dual SIM on XPeria X5 and with the phone stable on the table. Therefore it is not due to a move that would affect a SIM, it really looks like a serious defect in the firmware. It does not seem to happen in single SIM mode. Reset etc has no effect.
Hi @Jeff7575, sorry to hear that.
I'm a bit unsure which model you have since the Xperia Z5-series is still on Nougat and the Xperia 5 is on Android Pie.
If you receive this message when you use two SIM cards, but not when you only use one, it sounds like either the SIM card that you add when you use two SIM cards, or this SIM card reader is defect.
If it occurs in SIM slot 2, can you try and only have one SIM card in this slot and check if it restarts.
Thank you.
