Suddenly cant connect to mobile network and its nothing to do with my account...... Any ideas?
Hi @Juley and welcome to our community!
Have you been able to test another SIM card in the device in order to see if the SIM card is malfunctioning? Sometimes older SIM cards are not fully compatible with newer devices. If another SIM card woks better, I suggest that you get in contact with your service provider in order to get a new SIM card.
Another thing that you can try is to manually search for a network. In order to do this find and tap Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Tap the "Automatically select network" switch to disable automatic network selection > Select a network in the list that appears.
Try these measures and let me know how it goes!

Also, have you been able to carry out a quick test of the speakers in the phone to see if the hardware works as intended? Find and tap Settings > Support > Xperia Tests > Speakers and microphone.

Hi Martin,
Having the same problem with my XA1.
Removed SIM card it works fine in other phones.
Installed another SIM card. Nothing.
Have manually searched for networks, selected (correct) network from the list available sit here for a minute with a spinning circle and "Registering on O2-UK..." message comes back "Could not connect to network now. Please try again later."
All updates have been installed.
Android 8.0.0
Xperia System Update 48.1.A.2.112
Not impressed with this on a 13 month old phone...
Hi @PeteMon, sorry to hear that you are affected by this as well.
In that case it might be a good idea to try a software repair using Xperia Companion and a computer. do note that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so it is advised to do a backup before the repair to avoid data loss.
And if the software repair do not manage to improve the signal strength, I believe that the best thing to do is to have the phone physically examined and repaired. In that case, please get in contact with your local support team, they should be able to arrange for the phone to be sent to an authorized service center as well as answer questions regarding local warranty and consumer laws.
Feel free to keep me posted with how it goes!
Backed everything up. Did the software repair, nothing!! Exactly the same, "Could not connect to network now. Please try again later."
Not impressed that it should fail at 13 months old
Thank you @PeteMon for the quick reply.
In that case, I am afraid that the only thing left to do is to get in contact with your local support team as I mentioned before for further instructions on how to have your phone sent to an authorized service center.
