I usually connect to wifi at work or at home and I have started to experience problems. I frequently get authentication problems. I have tried the fix to disabled wifi and mobile data and then switch to flightmode. Then switching off flightmode and enable wifi and mobile data. It works fine but I can not accept to perform this type of workaround every time I get the problem. Is there a more permanent solution. Seems as IF I'm not the only one. All other products on my net work, work fine all the time.
Do you have Bluetooth on? Try to deactivate temporarily. This helps for me.
But this seems to be a problem introduced with the last update.
Thanks for the info. As I understad there are a variety of workarounds to reestablish wifi connection but I would like Sony mobile to present a solution for the root cause that wifi connectivity drops in the first place.
Me too and so far my only fix has been to reboot phone
There are other threads about this.
The only solution seems to be to turn off Bluetooth.
I did various resets and they didn't work for long.
Sony have said nothing in the forums about this.
Just to confirm this is still not fixed. The problem is as described by the OP. Turning Bluetooth off is not an acceptable solution. In my case it is needed to connect with the car media and phone automatically.
My phone is XA1 model G3123.
I can't use my Wifi at home for my mobile Xperia XA. My laptop and tablet and earlier mobile the Wifi was without any problems. But my new Sony can't : What is the problem. What can I do?
I've solved my problem now. I bought myself a Samsung and all is back to normal. Thanks Sony for the great support. 😉
I just discovered via this thread that this was the cause of my connectivity during travelling on my Sony Xperia F3215. Sony, if you can't fix it, please at least add a hint during failed wifi authentication - esp. where no password is necessary - that turning off bluetooth may solve the problem, if it is enabled.
If I may add another tip.
Clear things up.
Goto settings and search for 'reset'
There is a reset option named Reset network
