Are you sure Sync is turned on for Gmail account? Are you on Stamina mode?

yes, i'm sure sync is turned on Gmail account. yes, I use stamina mode, but should have no effect. each time you want to save a phone number, there is no choice save to your Gmail account.

Hi on my M2 dual the update was all fine, but after the update the option to save contact on the google is gone. It only gives option to savre on local phone. Have tried a full reset also but no help.

Same problem is here, My sync option is on and I do manually also but my contacts are not synce with gmail. That mean Gmail contacts imported to mobile but Mobile phone contacts not exported as well as saved in Gmail. How it happen? please solve it otherwise this update is useless.

I just upgraded my M2 duel to Android Lolypop ans since then i am not given an option to save contacts under my google account. Only a local optiob is shown. As my contacts are invaluable I am very distressed about this. Need help to sort this out.

After upgrading my Xperia M2 to Android 5.1 I am not able to save new contact to my Gmail account. Each time a create a new contact it says "Your New contact will Not be backed up. Add an account that backs up contact online" . I have already added my google and outlook account and the sync services are also turned on. I called the technical support they said that they are fixing this issue and at this time they dont have a resolution for this. I dont understand that If there was an issue why are you people providing the official update. Attached are the screen shots, It is not showing any oprtion to add google account in Contacts. 

Please let me know how to get rid of this, don't you dare suggest me the factory reset and software repair as I have already resetted the phone twice on the request of your dumb customer care executives.

After Updated xperia M2 Dual to lollypop version i can not add new contact in my contacts.It displays as "Your new Contact will not be backd up.Add an accountthat backs up contacts online"After that when i clicked on ADD Account button its not showing my google account & its not sync with my google account. Hi @Abdul_Rub,

You wish to add the contact to your Google account but you don't have the Google account as an option where to save the contact. Also, your Google account does not appear to be available in your phone when you go to Settings > Accounts > Google. Have I understood you correctly?
