Chinese input

Ok, so I want the option to use chinese input on my newlly bought Experia E.

I just CAN'T make it happen, though it appears to be possible!?

open the messaging app > open any conversation > tap on the input box > drag down the notification bar > tap on input keyboard > select chinese
