Icons keep duplicating on app screen

Please help!

Every so often I find that apps keep duplicating on my apps screen. Although it is not causing any problems with the device, it is frustrating to find that I have 5 navigation icons, 3 maps, 4 chrome etc etc

Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it?

Force restart the device(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).Could be an app acting up,but it is one of the strangest things I have ever heard.

I have done that already, restored the phone and it is happening again.

Also went through PC companion and nothing seems to have helped

Restart the phone in safe mode(press power button,tap longer on turn off,restart in safe mode).See if still occurs.

That removed the third party apps, but i still have duplicate clock, calender, voice dialer etc

I don't know how to get rid of those duplicated apps

Do you know how to remove an app from your screen?Tap longer on it and take it to the garbage bin.

Unfortunately it's on my app screen, so pressing longer only gives me the option of adding it to the home screen

What the fudge could make them appear twice?If you tap the third sensitive button in the app menu,and select uninstall on one of the two or three apps,what does it do?

i cant uninstall them because they are all greyed out

You have managed to get rid of the third party apps, it is just the ones that are preset that are dupmicated now, and i cannot change them

You are in safe mode,right?So the preset apps still appear duplicate?I have never seen something similar...I do not know what to say,if you say you have repaired with SUS,try again with PCC.The last step is to take the phone to a sony service.
