Hi Uliwooly!, Thanks for your suggestions towards solving my problem. I tried both methods (restarting in safe mode and downloading/running SUS). Unfortunately I am still at the same "impasse". With firewall disabled and files backed up I ran SUS and got a wiped clean tablet and the message box from PC Companion to accept the Ts + Cs (which I did),then it downloaded files from the internet and then hit me with the "close all programs and restart PC" box again!. I did this, with the same result ie: load - accept - download - close all... There is a page similar to iTunes showing my Music tracks and "Xperia Tablet" in top left panel with  a circling icon next to it as if it is trying to "Sync" as in iTunes. I don't know if this affects anything, but my OS is Windows Vista and my web browser Google Chrome. I'm sure I got "Companion" installed when I first got Tablet (August) as I remember seeing different options to highlight for "syncing". Could something in "Settings" either on PC or Tablet have changed somewhere? Do I need to go "back to basics"? If so,"How"? Thanks

Lets try something new

Create a new Administrator account on your PC > restart your PC > access the new account  > download SUS > install it > restart your PC > disable the firewall and/or antivirus > run SUS and/or PCC
