slow performance

Hello everyone. I just update my xperia arc s in to its lates software. The problem now is that my phone's performance is so slow that it takes 10-20 seconds to open an application (messaging, setting etc. ) It seems like it's lagging. What should I do to improve my phone's performance. Thank you in advance.

This is the very reason why I keep warning people on here NOT to update the Arc / Arc S to ICS.

Roll it back to Gingerbread is the answer.

The Arc / Arc S hardware just isnt up to running ICS nicely, it's just far to slow & buggy.
