Congratulations Sony, the XZS is brilliant, from industrial design to user experience and the improvements even over its predecessor the XZ in camera and performance in general, worth every penny and then some.
I do have a bone to pick with Sony however, when it comes to the official case.
The XZ case was advertised, at least in Japan, as having been designed by the same ID team members who worked on the industrial design side of the XZ. Its case blending with the curves of the actual phone was a feature, and it looked great. I still have mine and it has held up well.
The XZs case however, uses a clear plastic case and I've noticed that this is true for all colors... I assume this was done to cut costs as the same plastic part of the now clear case can be used for all colors and then you can simply wrap each with a differently colored plastic cover.
The clear plastic, which is also used for the XZ premium, in my own opinion to my eye does not look as nice and cheapens the overall feeling. I'm rarely critical of Xperia... , you guys have done an amazing job top to bottom since the very first model, but I felt it necessary to bring this up.
The device itself is incredible as I've said and I've gone on to order one in every color, incredible work! I'll be gifting xzs devices to many of my family members and colleagues and recommending to many others.
