BBC iPlayer will not fire up on XR-55A80J

IPlayer no longer opens when selected. All other apps open ok. This app also can’t be uninstalled and re-installed. Any help appreciated?

Hey, try uninstalling the updates on the live TV and catchup app by going to Home - Settings - Apps - live TV and catchup and select uninstall updates. I hope this helps

Hi @smokestack1964   I would start with a soft reboot. Hold down the remote power button until you see Restart. There is an outside chance that you may have to do a factory reset.

Thanks, I’ve tried that and it didn’t work. I’m not factory resetting the TV as can’t be arsed to go through all the set up again.

Hey, you can try and clear cached data on your TV by following the steps here: Home - Settings - System - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data - Clear. I hope this helps.

Thanks Elodin. Unfortunately that hasn’t worked. Appreciate the input.

I'm having the same problem on the XR-55A90J - None of the British TV apps work (BBC iPlayer, Channel 4, iTV).  You tap on the app and nothing happens.  I have the latest software and have rebooted the TV, no change.  Other apps like Netflix or Disney+ are fine.

Thanks Elodin! That’s fixed it for me.

It seems strange that that particular app update caused those problems.
