Can I use remote for XD80 TV with HT-CT180 soundbar?

Hi all,

Just picked up the above TV and soundbar today. Is it possible to use the remote for the TV to adjust the volume coming out of the soundbar and, if so, how do I do that? I haven't been able to find an answer in the user manual or online.

Hi there

Unfortunately you cannot use the TV remote control with this soundbar.  This is because the HT-CT180 only supports an optical connection to your TV.  It is the features within HDMI (HDMI-CEC) that enable the use of the TV remote control (Bravia Sync / Control for HDMI)
