Discover button ‘add/edit keyword’

This seems in principle like a good feature - but it only seems to search YouTube (or at least heavily prioritises) and comes up with a few random basic results. I can go direct to YouTube vie the same Discover button & get better results myself! Am I missing something crucial here in the way I’ve got it set up or is this just a pretty poor feature?

Hi there,

Can you let me know which Sony model you are referring to?

Cheers,

Hi again,

Thanks for the information.

When you press the DISCOVER button, it should display the 'Content Bar' at the bottom of the screen. From here you can search for various content such as TV programmes and Internet videos.

You can find more details on how to use the Content Bar here.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Sean Mc

Eh? All you've done is just tell me what it is: I know what it is - I can see it (obviously)!

That isn't relating to, or answering my question in any way at all.

Hi again,

I'm not entirely sure what your question is, regarding the Content Bar?  Is it that you are only seeing YouTube?

The content displayed will depend on your model, region and country.

You are able to customise content categories to be shown in DISCOVER.

Cheers,

Sean Mc

The search results I am getting are only from YouTube. If I add a keyword search of 'Match of the Day' on Saturday morning I would expect it to show that it is on BBC later that evening or iPlayer - but it's just random YouTube videos. The same if my word is a film that I know is on Netflix - returns just YouTube results.

Hi beelzebomb,
This is normal as Discover is some sort of shortcut to only Youtube and also videos, pictures and music added via USB or network.
The " add/edit keyword" feature works as a fixed Youtube search word that you would like to save on the TV.

I don't think this can be right? - There is already a shortcut to YouTube in the Discover option - and I did see a link (just the one) to Sony films in among the YouTube links on a specific keyword search. I'm beginning to suspect it's just not a very well thought out (ie, pretty pointless) feature.
