Issue with Bravia TV - red light?

Hi all

I am new to this but I need a bit of help please? Our tv was working fine yesterday I never noticed anything different about it and switched it off as normal last night. When I switched it back on this morning, it came on with the green light at the front as normal, then it changed to solid red. It's working fine, I can get guides up etc but this light is normally green? I have searched the internet for any ideas but all the discussions talk about a blinking red light, and mine stays solid. I have an 8 year old son and I'm wondering if he has pressed something by accident? Any guidance appreciated!!

Hi @Lelly123,

the online user count you see when you scroll down includes the logged in users of all European Sony Communities.

If your post has not yet received a reply, that means, that no one knows (yet) what to reply to your post.

No reason to be worried and open a second thread which points to this one (which I removed by the way).

Hi IamNic

Wow I'm surprised if there are all those people logged in that no one has come across this before!....Trust me....

I see you are classed as an Expert. Have you not come across this either??

Hi @Lelly123,

each "Expert" has a certain kind of product they are experts for and I am not the TV expert

Sorry to disappoint you.

Hi Nick

Oh I'm not disappointed. I'm sure you are an Expert at something.

I will just have to wait for a proper tv expert , but hey, thanks for your guidance!

Hi @Lelly123. I just been playing with the recording facility on my KD55XE9305 and quess what. When I set up a timer recording the light changes to solid red.

Hi thanks for your reply. That's really interesting. Can you tell me how you set the timer and I will see if that's what happened. I will try and cancel any timer recording if there is one on there.

Thanks

You would only be able to record if a USB drive has been connected and configured. It sounds like you are not familiar with recording on the TV and so I would assume you haven't set it up as such.

Have you tried a 'soft reset' which reboots the system. Usually done by pressing and holding the power button on the remote control for six or more seconds.

Hi @Lelly123. I am using the Sony TV Guide (Youview disabled). Simply press Guide and move to the left of the Guide until the menu appears. Timer list will show any scheduled recordings.

Hi thanks for your suggestion. I got the guide up but it says nothing anywhere about recordings on my tv. It is purely a programme guide. I have never recorded anything on it before but my son could have pressed something I suppose? Any other ideas?

Thanks

L
