I am trying to connect a HDD to the TV for recording programmes and so on but the dedicated connection, USB 3 HDD REC, is hidden behind a protective plate that I am having difficulty removing to gain access.

The Manual doesn't show a protective plate (page 6). Can you share a picture of what you're seeing?

@BeeJay48 just pull it out. It's only part of the cable management. If it's sturdy it's good. Give a lil bit of strenght but don't worry you won't break it.

Joe. Many thanks for following up; the back plate is a series of verticle and horizontal of slot together panels. After a bit of pushing and pulling I managed to get the right hand side verticle panel off and then the bottom horizontal panel open (which was also a tight fit) not completely off, but enough to get access to the USB drive. Problem now solved. Thanks for your support. BeeJay48

Sonyvores. Many thanks for your advice. I was just about to give up but gave it one last try. Removed the right hand side verticle panel and then prised open the bottom horizontal panel open enough to get access to the USB slot. They are tight but I suppose it is to protect the rear cable connections so is OK. Problem solved. Many Thanks. BeeJay48
