Lip sync problems with atmos
Hi
last night I was trying to watch Netflix, one of the latest films with Atmos sound. I have a new KD49XH9505 tv and HT - X8500 sound bar. With both these the lip sync was awful making the film unwatchable. I turned off atmos and went back to 5.1 sound and this cured the problem. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Just a note, any programmes I watch without Atmos is fine.

Hi,
Please check the sound settings on the TV and the sound bar.
Usually there's an option to adjust this delay.
Cheers

My question was why does this only happen when watching a programme that is transmitted with atmos. All other sounds are ok. I shouldn’t have to keep adjusting things all the time. 😀

Atmos is a higher quality signal (more data = more susceptible to interference, errors and delays, etc..).
That said, have you tried enabling eARC (under Watching TV) or Enhanced signal format (under Watching TV - External Inputs - HDMI signal format)?
