My new XG95 with, manufactured 06/2020, got shipped with a XH95 firmware preinstalled (PKG6.4758.0610EUA) have anyone else encountered this? i also wonder if i'm now supposed to got down the XH-firmware route from now on. The tv tells me that it's on the newest firmware but i can see on Sony's website that there's a newer XH-firmware released.
My current understanding on this is:
6.4758 is not from the XH95, it is an unreleased to the public Firmware upgrade, shipped from the factory, for the last of the XG95 series, which includes amongst other things the upgraded XH TV Menu system.
The XH95 model has never had a downloadable or upgradeable version 6.4758, it has had versions 6.4738 and 6.4770.
Currently, there is nothing preventing you from installing the 6.4770 XH95 Firmware on your XG95 as they are essentially the same TV, apart from price and availability. My XG95 accepted the XH95 USB Firmware upgrade and installed it
However, this may (and probably will) void your warranty.
and latest 6.3632 FW blocks that, so think 3x if you wanna go H route or stick with G
How can you install that if you have 6.4758 preinstalled (or XH 6.4770)- You can't and I am not sure you would even want to.
6.4758 was never released, it was just something that some recently manufactured XG came with. Think that it did leak somewhere but.....
And it seems that going H route still works on latest FW despite some failed ones.
So your previous post was totally incorrect regarding future non upgradability to XH firmware?
so far, it seems so. Didn't try it. Don't have time to reset and reconfigure everything and it looks like it is a must to have a working BT. On the other hand, not sure that is worth it. Don't care about menu. The only two issues that bugs me are ocassional audio skipping and in kodi, some video skipping. Since I can't find info that this is fixed....
Us with the ”special” 6.4758 firmware, is there any benefit och upgrading to the latest XH firmware (6.4770) you think? I mean, we already have the ”XH-looking” menus
