New TV but only Netflix works
Hi,
I’ve just bought a new SONY BRAVIA TV KD49XG7073SU and although it is connected to my WiFi (virgin if that helps) only the Netflix button will work.
I can play anything through Netflix so the internet is working but if I select the home button on the remote it just says there’s no connection & to check the antenna.
I haven’t set this up with an antenna connection as I only want to use the apps and smart internet function, not live broadcasts. But if the YouTube button doesn’t work and I can’t see any other apps or services only a blank screen.
Has anyone else had the same issue and knows how to fix it?

Just in case you are not aware, you have bought a Linux TV (not Android) with very limited smart features. Basically what you see is what you get with no facility to add more Apps.
You would have been better off with an Android TV if you are not going to use the terrestrial channels.
Your TV is supported in the Other TV community. https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/other-tvs/bd-p/tv_en_1
You could make it smarter by adding a Fire or Roku streaming stick.

You would not be much better off with a Sony Android TV.
Without a terrestrial aerial connection, the itv and All4 apps will not work.
My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…
