If you got it off Amazon, returns are easy and straightforward.
My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…

Hi, I have a K-85XR90 and the TP-Link UE300. The USB Ethernet Adapter worked out of the Box. The problem is that I can not switch on the TV anymore when the Adapter is pluged in. I have to disconnect power and after connecting power again I have to press the "ON" button in remote for ~10s to restart the TV. I also tried the developer USB settings with same result.
Any ideas?

Hi @AlexKid
The firmware on these Bravia 9 TVs is completely new, perhaps you have discovered that the UE300 is no longer compatible. The UE300 is now an old model so it may be you need a newer model. Useful information for the community.
I take it you have tried all the USB ports.
What amazes me, that in 2024 Sony are not using 1 Gb network cards. It must be difficult to source old 100 Mbps chips! I take it you have tested the native network Ethernet speed?

Hi,
you are right. For the newest Bravia 9 Series we need a newer USB3 Ethernet Adapter. I searched a while and ordered this one:
I tested it for one week now without any problems

hi guys.
i have a xbr-85z9k (year 2022 model)
and also a xbr-65a95k (year 2023 model)
i have bought two different models of the tp-link usb "A" Gigabit adapter's.
one is the "UE300" and the other is "UE330 with 3 usb 3.0 ports in it"
i have tested both model's successfully.
Hitting speeds way way above the inbuilt sony ethernet port.
thank you all for this info.
cheers!!
