USB and 4K camera video
I have a 2016 4K 49XD8099 if I copy 4K video from my Nikon camera to a USB memory stick, can I play the video in 4K straight from the memory stick? or will it play in normal HD.

Nikon doesn't have HEVC codec, it is compressed using H264, so in many cases the bitrate is too high for the TV. I know my XD93 can't play .mov files stright from Nikon D500 without stutter. It will however play just fine when I convert the file to x265 using any freeware tools, e.g. handbrake or whatever.
I don't know what camera you have so it is difficult to say for sure.

In addition to what was said above, please see this link for which file formats and codecs are supported

Thanks for the quick response. Camera is a Nikon 1 J5, further to posting query on forum I read instructions for camera to find that you cannot replay 4K video on a 4K TV even when connected directly with an hdmi cable. Not very happy with Nikon, but will be trying out your suggestions. I hope for success and post results.
