Sony Bravia KDL50W805C will not pair with non Sony headphones ( it paired in a second with my Xperia 10 II mobile phone} can you suggest a Sony headphone which will pair?
There is nothing special about Sony Headphones. All Bluetooth headphones need the A2DP Bluetooth to connect to a device to receive audio. If you have a look at your TV’s specification (Bluetooth (HID/HOGP/3DSP/SPP)) you will see that the A2DP profile is missing. I’m sorry but this means that your TV does not support any Bluetooth headphones without a 3rd party App or a Bluetooth transmitter. Sorry I cannot recommend anything as my TV does have the A2DP profile as do most “9” series TVs. Unfortunately Sony hasn’t included the A2DP profile with the “8” series TVs, even today on their 2020 models.
Thanks for your reply, it was just that I managed to pair my new Xpera 10 II mobile phone with my Bravia, that I thought perhaps Sony block 3rd party add ons. I will get a USB Bluetooth device and see if that does the trick. Regards
