For reasons we have never been permitted to know, YouView on Sony TVs has not been able to achieve the full potential of what you would think it could do, given what its PVRs can do, even allowing that some of the hardware needed is not provided on the TV.
e.g. Recording needs an external HDD; but though the Freeview side can do this, the YouView side inexplicably(?) can’t.
Reminders is a another case in point that the Freeview side of these sets can do, and YouView PVRs can do, but YouView on Sony TVs can’t.
Why not? I think we should be told.
YouView Superuser, but not an employee of YouView, nor retained by them for this purpose. It's purely me speaking
