I've got a song Experia 1 and it was a system update ,the other day the was a 5 next to the WiFi icon now it's a 4 you can see the 4 injust don't know what it's for

Hey the numbers beside Wi-Fi signal signifies the Wi-Fi standards, so 4 means that the means that the Wi-Fi operates in the 2.4/5 GHz frequency range only , it;s mainly something related to the Wi-Fi signal on your device.

I think the phone automatically connects to the best available frequency which is the 5Ghz, but that can be controlled from the router if you want to enable both of the frequencies and the phone will connect to the best available one or just enable one of them to be the permanent frequency.
