Hello everyone!
Phone:
-Xperia L
-android: 4.2.2
-build number: 15.3.A.1.14
ISSUE: Battery goes down really fast; screen usage at 40% all the time (even though is turned off most of the time and brightness always set to lowest)
Battery goes down really fast. A few months ago it did the same, but restarting the phone would help.
Since last week, the battery goes down and down, and the screen usage goes up and up, lol.
This happens while the screen is OFF. It drains the battery as if the screen was set to the highest brightness and turned on, WHICH IS NOT THE CASE (I always have it at lowest brightness and most of the time it's off).
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (tested both scenarios, with and without them):
-Blue light filter: nothing changed
-Google Play Services to factory: nothing changed
-GBoard: nothing changed
Looking forward to read any ideas or tips!
@Frivertt wrote:Hi! my problem is with the screen, I consume a lot of battery, eventhough I have the brightness to the lowest ...?
Hello everyone!
I have the same problem.
Battery info under Power management shows always the screen on top. Percentage is most of the time around 35-45.
I'd been able to deal with that by just restarting it.
However, since last week, the screen is always demanding almost 40%, being the most battery demanding thing on my phone by far (wifi second place with 14... or 15 % !!).
My brightness is always set to the lowest.
Hope someone finds a solution to this issue!
I wish all posts were layed out like this
Did you update software recently?
Edit: by software I meant OS... 4.1 to 4.2 etc
That's normal, that the screen will use 40% of the battery, also, if your device it's about 2 years old, the battery won't hold charge as good as before

Hi!
Thanks for the reply NeoBeum.
No, I didn't. It's 4.2.2 since the day I got it.

Hi!
Thanks for the reply uliwooly.
I don't think it's normal. The screen used to be around 20% usage, and that was a week ago. The battery was discharging at a normal rate, it would last almost 2 days (when not using the phone much) nothing unusual. Since a similar issue happened a few months ago, I tend to check the stats from time to time.
From the moment I noticed the battery was discharging really fast, I've been checking the stats and it was the screen getting higher and higher usage.
I did a full charge yesterday just to check the clean stats. I left the phone with the screen off, airplane mode, wifi on, during 30 minutes. Result: screen 45%.
Last night, the screen usage reached 75%. I was trying to get rid of the junk and stuff, I used it for an hour or so... and 75% (brightness set to lowest as always).
Regarding what you said about the battery, I totally agree with that.
However, as I described before, the phone was having a similar behaviour a few months ago, with the screen usage going berserk. Almost 1% per minute, with its brightness set to the lowest. A restart would help back then, and the screen would be around 20% or so... but that's history now.
l have same problem too. My phone autostarts itself whenever its on standby and screen is off too.
Battery drains quickly with dispaly/screen taking 40% and above.
So boring
Any help?
