Best replacement phone?

I don't know too much about phones( Cleary since I bought this M4) I am buying a new phone and really can't afford another bad phone. 

Can you guys help me out? 

I need a reliable phone my choices are: 

Moto x Play

LG G3 or the LG G4.

I heard the Moto X isn't that good and that LG is the way to go.

This comparison is unfair, comparing an entry-to-mid ranger from Sony against a more recent mid ranger from Moto and a high-end older phone from LC. Even the price tags for the other 2 phones will be higher than M4 Aqua. It's like comparing your M4 Aqua to Xperia Z3 and C5, different categories.

If you need my advice I can point you to the suitable Xperia phone that suits your budget and needs, that's what I'm expert in. For other brands, I know only the basics.

Assuming Price does not matter, and I am getting one tommorow...  

Moto X you said is another mid-ranger and LG G3 is an old high end phone, G4 is also older with the G5 out now... 

So you are saying the G4 is the way to go? Out of that list.

You can't compare those phones together, I can't give you an advice on phones I don't even know.

what problem did you have with the M4? If it was storage space then clearly that is important.

Why did you buy the M4? Waterproof? then make sure you still have that.

I, like many here like Sony. So that might be a consideration.

@Sonymanpro: if money doesn't really matter, why you'd choose a midrange phone? always go witht he flagship if money doesn't matter.

do more research with your next phone: a good site would be gsmarena.com or google one for your self.

Why not consider Xperia X Perfromance when it comes out? Xperia Z5 Premium? despite the bad things you hear here they are good phone (people will come here because they have problems not because they want to praise the devices /products)

LG g3 is almost a year already and it would soon face end of life in terms of mobile updates

Lg g4 have the worst battery life compared with xperias, it has large pixel dense screen that the battery is struggling to power and with a lower end GPU to manage it.

Moto x play is another mid range with a company that is sold 3x already.

there is my opinion regarding your choices, you may choose the one that fits you best

Money does matter, I meant I could get the Moto X or LG G3 for free or with bonus gifts. 

LG G4 I would have to pay $50.

LG G5 I would have to pay a lot. 

I made my choice, and am happy with the phone I chose.
