Contacts not synced between two phones

Hi everybody
I have two Xperia M2. WIth one of them, I can see the contacts I have on the phone (either if they have mails or just phone numbers) on Google contacts. If I enter a new contact I can see it on Gmail.
But on the other phone... I can´t see all of them. I just see 6 contacts. I have tried the synchronization but without results. I have no external memory card in either phones.
Thanks for your help.

Hello again!

If I understand correctly it seems that your contacts on your second phone are only saved on the internal storage in the phone and not on the Google account, since when you edit the contact it doesn't say that it's saved on your Google account.

If you go to Settings > Accounts > Google, are there any troubles with the sync regarding contacts here? If you are using the same Google account in both phones and you are sure that they are saved to the Google account there shouldn't be any troubles with showing them in your other phone.

You can also export the local contacts in your phone to for example, your SD card or internal storage and then import them to your Google account.

To do that open up the Contacts application > 3 dots > Export > Internal storage/SD card. Go back to the contacts application > 3 dots > Import > choose account (Google) > tap on which storage you choose when you exported the contacts.

Let me know how it goes! Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi @VeroBenicio, sorry to hear that. Slightly_frowning_Face

When you syncronize the contacts, are there any error messages or does it just update with current the date and time?

If it does, It sounds like the filter option in the Contacts application is set to not show your Google contacts correctly in your other Xperia M2.

Could you please try and open up the contacts application > 3 dots > Filter > scroll down to "Display contacts" > press your Google account and check the small boxes next to My contacts, Friends, Family and so forth.

When all boxes are checked, go back to the contacts application, can you see all the contacts now?

Hi Jonas, thanks a lot for your answer. Right now I just have the cell that has all the contacts and I can see in google. But I have checked all you say and will do it with the other (I do not have it with me now) later and tell you about it.

Thanks a lot!

The difference I see between the two phones is that the one that I can see the contacts, when I open a contact and edit it I see the google icon and the mail, but on the other phone I just see the icon of the externa memory. I tried to configure the account but it says that the account already exists.

I exported everything to the internal and external memories, but still can´t connect the ggole account. When i open the contact I just see the whatsapp and the memory icons. Sorry I write so many responses. Thanks for your help

I keep on writing and checking. Up to now, whenever I wrote a new contact, I didn´t have to select manually whether to store it on google or just the phone. Apparently, I store it on the phone as default, but never sync with google. Is there a way that whenever I do this it does it alone?

Thanks

They are differente phones, diff numbers, diff accounts. I wonder whether there is a form to set up as default to store the numbers (in the first one, it does, not in the second) on the google account. I will try deleting the account and saving it again. I´ll let you know what happens.

Thanks for the update!

Now I understand, its different accounts in the phones.

To automatically save the contacts to your Google account you need to open up the Contacts application > add a new contact and just below the first and last name you will see "Phone contact, no backup". Tap on that and you will able to switch to the Google account, add the information and save the contact.

The next time you add a new contact it should say Google below first and last name and the contact will be saved to your Google account.

Let me know it goes!
