Earphone can brake the phone

Hi I know this sound stupid but can half broken earphones damage the phone my old phone got damage from the broken earphones and it dint work well 😛 I use now Sony xperia m2

As an electronic technician, I suggest you if you can, to buy a new pair of earphones
