in-call volume keeps returning to 50%

as the subject indicates, whenever I place a new call (even on internet calls, FB, skype etc) the in-call volume is set at 50%.

I noticed this because when I receive or place a call, the voice of the other guy calling me or the "ringing sound" when I am the one calling is very low. so what I did is press the volume button up, looked at the screen to see if it is full already. to my surprise the volume slider is set halfway, until i slide it all the way up (100%) then I can now hear the sound from the earpiece.

I wonder why or how this in-call volume keeps on going back to halfway(50%) when a new call is initiated. It was like its default is at 50% in-call volume even if i changed it already to full (100%) during the last call.

what can I do to make it default at full (100%) in-call volume?

btw, this happened I think after the last update (26.1.B.2.147), my unit is M4 Aqua Dual (E2333).

Thanks in advance!

after observation, I found out that the culprit was the facebook messenger.

whenever I use the FB messenger to make call/videocall, it automatically "presets" the in-call volume slider halfway down (50%). I followed a normal call immediately after the FB call, then my in-call volume is still at 50%.

however, if I made a normal call(with the in-call volume raised up to 100%) followed by another normal call, it stays on 100% (or whatever the last normal call volume was). using the FB call again will mess it up again.

I think I have to deal with it, I am using the FB messenger anyway.

thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I do not have access to M4 Aqua Dual so I'm unable to test this. But as far as I know, there are no settings to manage the volume for the call more than using the volume buttons while the call is active.

You could always try to boot the phone into safe mode to see if same behaviour occur while placing/receiving calls. Sometimes, a third party application can adjust the volume. Otherwise, your Local support may have further information regarding this.

Hi Hampus,

Thank you for the response.

I just find it unusual, coz before the last setting of the volume (say I ended the call and it is at 75% in-call volume) remains the same whenever i make or receive another call.

oh and this is not succeeding by the way, i mean i think every 3 or 4 calls it returns to 50% in-call volume then on the 5th call it is normal.

the last app I installed before this instance happened are purely games app, no call-related app. do you think this still affects the volume during call?

I will test it on safemode as advised. now, what shall i do if on safemode it is working fine? and on the other way around, what will i do if the same problem occurs? and lastly, how can i pin-point which app is affecting it?

thanks again.

Thank you for sharing the information. Glad to hear that you found which application that caused this behaviour.
