Sony Xperia M System update went wrong

Hello,

This morning my phone said that I should update the system. So I did, it said that it would take 14 minutes to complete the update. After a few minutes I saw a dead android laying with a red triangle above it. And whenever I try to put the phone back on, I get the same thing on the screen. I can't use my phone right now, I can't do anything with it.

What's the problem and what should I do?

Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues after an upgrade - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Removing the battery doesn't help. The phone only turns on when I hold the on/off-button for several seconds.

I'm trying the hard reset by update software with Sony PC Companion. It takes a while, and it's still busy with that, but it finds the phone. The only problem is that you will lose your contacts and image/videos and everythingg that's on the phone's internal memory.

Yeah. not the "14 minutes" as promised, thanks Sony for releasing an update that does not work.

I agree, hopefully someone will come up with a solution. This hard reset by update software on Sony PC Companion takes ages to complete, because I have a slow internet connection here.
