Sound coming from front cam lense. 😞

Whenever i close front camera (or equivalent to that like switching to main camera, opening captured shots when front cam is running) or the focus is adjusting, there is a sound coming from LENSE (not from speaker or anything else).

I'm facing this problem after updating to marshmallow
I've done factory data reset, still not resolved😞

My previous device is Xperia c3 which i encountered the same problem with back cam lense after updating to 5.1.1 from 5.0 in that phone. On that problem i've done no. of software repairs, gone to service centre, they replaced mother board! Then also problem was not resolved. I was very disappointed & angry on that issue.

But now with this device too I'm encountering the same problem which is annoying.

Now my questions are:
1) Is any one encountering the same issue? Remember the lense sound is too low that you can hear only when there is pin drop silence.
2)Is it a software bug? If not is it problem with updating my device?

I'm awaiting your help. Thank you

Hi,

It sounds like the sound you hear is the focus part of the camera.

The phones camera contains moving parts which is used for focusing. When you start or close the camera and when it's focusing, you can hear a sound coming from it if you listen closely. This is normal and not related to the software version in your phone.

In case you notice that the camera is not working properly. i recommend that you contact a service centre to have the phone checked.

Thanks for your response.

Coming to the topic, yes it sounds while focussing and i have no issues regarding image quality. But i never noticed such sounds from lenses when using the android versions those came with device. I noticed this in both the phones only when updated to higher android versions.

Is it possible that you didn't notice it at first? As you mentioned, it's really hard to hear unless it's really silent where you're located.

The camera however should not be focusing permanently. That is - is it acually focusing permanently? Stuff like Smart Lock and most "Assistant" software can be configured to use face recognition - if anything like that is set, the front camera will get activated whenever you bring up the screen! That is intended and unavoidable (and the associated power consumption and privacy issues are reasons why these "features" still are fairly unpopular).

I'm also hearing that little focus sound in front cam when no more noises in my room,

But As my concern this is more likely not audible sound when we're in outside.

If Camera is not focusing properly, that will affect us. So Please skip this my dear friend Face_with_stuck-out_Tongue
