Sound coming from front cam lense. 😞

Whenever i close front camera (or equivalent to that like switching to main camera, opening captured shots when front cam is running) or the focus is adjusting, there is a sound coming from LENSE (not from speaker or anything else).

I'm facing this problem after updating to marshmallow
I've done factory data reset, still not resolved😞

My previous device is Xperia c3 which i encountered the same problem with back cam lense after updating to 5.1.1 from 5.0 in that phone. On that problem i've done no. of software repairs, gone to service centre, they replaced mother board! Then also problem was not resolved. I was very disappointed & angry on that issue.

But now with this device too I'm encountering the same problem which is annoying.

Now my questions are:
1) Is any one encountering the same issue? Remember the lense sound is too low that you can hear only when there is pin drop silence.
2)Is it a software bug? If not is it problem with updating my device?

I'm awaiting your help. Thank you

@Epicurean

The camera focus is only active when the camera is being used. But as you say, it doesn't need to be our camera app using it. 3:rd party apps can also use the camera if the app is given permission to do so.

No Rickard. I said it is audible if surroundings are silent to make you hear to that. I've been using the device from beginning in the same silent environment and I'm sure there is no such issue before updating. As you are from support team, i think you can get access to new devices that are not updated to marshmallow so that you can check.

And I'm not using smart lock, nor given camera permission to any other 3rd party app. The sound comes while using sony's camera app. Ofcourse if we use 3rd party app too, sound will come in that too.

Hi Rickard,

Have you confirmed that it is problem with software update?

I don't have any M5 unit with the first firmware i'm afraid. But it's not related to which version of Android you're using. It's the camera hardware and not a software sound you hear. This can also be heard on older products with older versions of the software.
