various questions from a new AQUA owner...

Hello, i recently purchased a Sony Xperia M4 'AQUA'  phone (Android & AT&T) and everything seems to be working just fine so far but i did have a few questions that i haven't been able to find answers to yet ( i searched these forums but no luck...yet. -- If i end up finding the answer(s) in an existing thread, i'll edit/delete my thread) ...

1. Is it possible to change the CLOCK style on the HOME screen?  Currently it's  'Sony style' , where the time is sort of 'stacked' on-top of eachother...but i'd prefer the more traditional side-by-side  '24-hour digital' style (which i was able to change for my idle/locked screen, but i can't seem to find an option in 'Settings' to change the home screen version) .

2. On my previous Sony phone (the Xperia ION) , it had a build-in system   notepad program (called 'Notes' ) ...but i can't seem to locate any 'notepad' program on my AQUA that is already installed.  Do i have to purchase/download a 3rd-party  App for this feature now?

3. Is there any way i can block/disable  these annoying  'Google' pop-up adds  that seem to  show on the bottom of my screen sometimes even when i'm just simply in 'settings' for certain  build-in programs ?

4. How can i figure out exactly which already installed Apps (aka "bloatware" )  i can disable/delete  from my phone, so i can  a) free up more hard-drive space  and  b) get rid of things i never use and never will use  ?  --- This seems like an obvious question but i'm asking it anyway because i had some complications on my ION phone when i deleted  bloatware  and it ended up messing up my phone's  battery/processor temperature  monitoring  and would cause the phone keypad to randomly stop functioning, to the point where i would have to turn the phone completely off and back on to reset it every few days.

5. My AQUA  has 16 gigs of 'internal storage'  but when i connect it to my PC , my computer only shows it has having  "____gigs free of 11.0 gigs total" .  Where might the missing 5 gigs be and why doesn't my PC recognize it?  Is it considered hidden storage or system storage or 'off limits' or whatever?

6. Whenever i hang-up ( 'end call' )  and go back to the HOME screen, i see this  solid green-bar  at the very top of the screen pop-up for like a split second.  Is this normal?  And if so, what is it?

7. Does anyone who is an avid user of this type of phone  have any experience/tips  with how best to keep the phone *clean* ?  Like,  is it best to only use 'micro fiber' cloth to clean the screen & backside?  Are there any great SONY authorized  cases you'd recommend?

8. Is it possible to transfer my TEXTS from my previous ION phone over to my new AQUA ?  -- Yes i'm already trying to use the PC 'Xperia Companion' program , as well as trying to use the  inherent phone App called 'Xperia Transfer Mobile' , but neither is working because:  a) Apparently the ION, as the 'sender',  has to be connected  cable-to-cable [for Xperia Transfer Mobile]  and yet the AQUA, as the 'receiver', only allows to choose the 'WiFi' option ...and... b) my old ION isn't  showing up with the PC Xperia Companion as being "plugged in" , even though it is. ----  I suppose the only way to transfer from ION-to-AQUA  is to  either backup *everything* (photos, videos, contacts, and texts ?? ) into Google 'cloud' , which i don't want to do.  ...or...  Drag & drop files & folders manually on my PC computer , but i don't see which folder/file  holds my old ION contacts & texts (maybe because texts are stored on the old ION sim-card? )

Thanks   in-advance  to anyone willing to answer, since i realize how aggravating  some of these types of questions can be.

1 hold finger on screen, then select widgets/clocks from the pop up.
2 possibly, yes download. Google have a good stock notepad.
3 not sure what ads you refer to?
4 press the app drawer button, then in top right the 3 dots and choose "manage apps" the ones with an X in corner can be deleted.
5 the missing 5 gigs is reserved for OS and app installations.
6 it's the notification that a call is still active, it takes a fraction of a second longer to shut down.
7 micro fibre is best, and I personally use whatever cases I can get.
8 you can get sms transfer apps

THANK YOU so much for the  listed replies.  I appreciate it and  everything helped out great...except:

8. As i mentioned in my OP above,  i already have the 'Xperia Transfer Mobile'  program App , but (and hopefully my OP wasn't too convoluted)  the App isn't working for my effort to go from my old phone (ION) to my new AQUA, because: My ION won't let me choose the same option 'Wireless' as my AQUA  forces me to only choose.

My ION only lets me choose 'Cable' (on the "Connect Devices" step 3/6 screen) , whereas my AQUA  only allows me to choose 'Wireless' .  Therefore, i cannot get the 2 phones to  connect & transfer.

Hi @Neezeesony,

Welcome to the community.

In regards to #8, you can use third party SMS back up and restore applications from the Google Play Store if Xperia Transfer is not working.

There are many out there so I can't provide specific assistance for third party apps.
