I have had multiple problems with this phone and it is only 12-16 months old. It has been repaired once already because the camera stopped working after an update caused it to freeze/crash...
1. I am displeased with the camera, the picture is dark and grainy! no matter what I do with various settings, how I play about with all that is available to me to try make it better, it is darker still and the sound is cr*p. I have also found it near impossible to keep my pictures and videos, I end up having to delete things just because I am lulled into thinking it will make space on my phone. But I have come to accept that 5MB storage is just a ridiculous size, and that I will not ever be able to do all the things I hoped I would be able to do with this phone when I bought it in Oct 2015. I feel as though I have been manipulated by the hard sell, which is all too apparent in shops these days, and it has made me distraught at times.
2. I have a 3 min video, tho a couple of previous videos also would not work properly. When trying to upload videos to my social media profile, it will not progress. I had to put a video on the comments to a status I was trying to upload, because I got bored of trying to upload a short video and had no more time to try. Tonight I have spent two hours trying again and again to upload the video of me playing guitar to my social media profile on facebook, and it will not even venture beyond 0.0. Although this could be a difficulty with the social media app, I cannot say, all I know is it will not do a simple task when I ask it to. And yet it is supposed to do so. The problem is not my wi-fi, as everything else that is attached to it runs fine and works impeccably.
3. I have allegedly insufficient storage on my phone to update to the latest system update vers 26.3.A.1.33 ?? This pop up message continues to badger me every day now for at least two to three months. In fact I am so sick of updates that I don't know if there is even a benefit to this phone anymore. The last system update took too long, and then it caused my phone/pc to crash, and after that I could not even get to the start up screen. That was the last time I had to send this phone to be repaired. Why keep creating updates that are too complex to even fit on the phone, if this is the case?
4. Also when I ring people or answer a call, the sound is crackly and something annoying bleeps in my ear, or the sound of boxes/apps being opened distracts me from a conversation. Now this has been a problem since the very beginning when I got the mobile in the first place, I would be talking and/or the phone would click off which to be honest just comes across to the person on the other end of the handset as rude. I have tolerated it, I have had to refrain to simply texting friends and family, to stop the embarassment of getting cut off or not hearing what they are saying to me at the other end of the phone and asking them to repeat themselves. Once not so long ago, I came off a call from somebody to find that 5 apps had unwittingly opened up while I was trying to simply talk to someone, the screen just is too sensitive and this vulnerabliity with the phone. It had even gone to google play and almost downloaded a useless app I did not choose or want.
5. the sensitivity of the screen has come up as an issue consistently for months, recently I was at a house party, when my phone in my pocket sent 8 texts of gibberish and 2 to a work colleague who was most confused, it also opened about 5 web pages one of an unsavoury nature from a dodgy advert, when the handset was meant to be 'locked' and secure in my pocket. And once at work in my pocket several months ago now, the phone went to google play and downloaded a random app that I had never actually agreed to. I have since had to delve into my settings and put a pin to my lockscreen and various sensitive apps, so that this doesn't keep happening to me.
These are the main issues I have with my mobile, although there are many other little foibles that drive me nuts about it. I used to love sony and this is my 2nd xperia, but I do not want another because of the persistent aggravation and problems I have had because of it. These are weaknesses/vulnerabilities that need resolving, and I don't think I am the only one who has been terribly unlucky in these facts. But if there are any things I can try to solve it from home, then I would like to go away from being frustrated everyday simply trying to communicate with my closest and enjoying a stress free call or app, then I will be most appreciative and I will try whatever is within my capability to make it work. Otherwise, I am just about at my wits end with this phone, and can't wait to be rid of the burden.
Any advice is useful? I'm sorry if this posted message comes across as angry, I'm just trying to explain what has been happening with it, and am merely requesting help? Has anybody else experienced similar things with M4 aqua happening to them, and how did you combat it?
