I have this one month old Xperia M5.
I was not using the phone when it automatically shut down. It was just in my bag. When I picked it up to check it, it won't turn on anymore.
I tried all the pieces of advice I could find on the internet. From Sony Support to YouTube to random forums to Facebook. Nothing has worked.
When it is connected to the charger, there is no notification light.
When you press the power button and the volume button, nothing happens.
When you connect it to the computer, it does not get detected.
When you run PC Companion, it does not detect it still.
When you press the miniature button near the memory card tray, nothing happens.
Um... Help?
Hi,
Could you try to perform a software repair using PC Companion via PC Companion to see if it works? Otherwise, if there are no reactions at al, I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have your phone examined by a technician. You can contact your Local support for information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way.
How about sudden death issue of M5, Sony have any solutions, yet? Hampus
We as victims of your crapy product, would like to know very much, Sir......

Hi @rjb777
Welcome to the community.
If you are unable to charge the device nor peform the force restart as suggested above I would suggest the software repair or to contact your Local support team.

So until today, still no definite answer for the real root course of this issue. OMG....... Oh, come on Sony, you could do better than this...............
Isn't this what the Xperia Community Manager just said!?
And didn't you two read my initial post!? I said PC Companion can't detect my phone, so how do you expect me to perform the Software Repair!?
Sony Center overcharges.
Are you telling me that I am going to pay extra cash for something that wasn't my fault!?
You're so good at selling your products but your support system is not very reliable.
You don't value your customers, Sony.
What waste of money.
@John-BR
I already tried the safe mode & the software repair..in fact i dont have any apps aside from its built in apps..but still it shutdowns itself..& whats the use of my smart phone if I cant download any apps..I am a sony fan..in fact I advertise every phone of yours to my family..& discouraged them buying brands not Sony..But now..im really depressed..I cant even tell them that my phone has a problem because they will laugh at me because i have worked hard for this phone.I bought this phone here in my country- Philippines for 19,000php thats 402.28USD. Do the math! with a salary of only 63.52USD a month..I have to save 6 months just to buy this Phone!
I have this one month old Xperia M5 Dual
The phone just simply shut down two to three times in a day and cannot turn on, until I plug it on charger.
further this problem only occur while using 3G or LTE service only. In 2G service its work fine.
Any fix on this problem? Already reset & repair with PCC two times.
Hi @rjb777 and @manmohanyadav
I'd suggest you both contact your Local support team. They will be better able to provide assistance with these issues.
