Downloading apps in the market via PC

Hi guys, I have another question. My phone cant seem to download apps via my pc. Is this normal? My pc uses a broadband connection for internet. I can however download and install apps on my xperia pro via wi fi connection.

I just want to know if this is how it should be...

you cnnot use pc's internet connection for downloading apps on your phone...

you need connection for both pc as well as your phone..

the apps directly gets installed on the phone...
