Sony Ericsson Love walkman loud hiss

Just bought this phone yesterday. Everything Works fine except the sound. Good quality but with the loud hiss sound makes the walkman experience bad. Is this normal in se devices?

I would suggest taking the handset back to the place of purchase as there should be no hissing coming from thr speakers on the device. Alternatively I can suggest performing an update to the handset to resolve the issue,

I took it to the store, tried another device and had the same "problem".

I took some time to test it better (the 1st time i tested it was 2 am, dead silent) and it's not exactly a hiss.

It's a very small buzz on the left side, which it's very difficult to hear on any store; just on a quiet environment.

Listening to music it's only barely noticeable.

It's more noticeable when you play a video or you pause the music/video and then you hear the small buzz, coming from the left side, for 3/5 seconds.

I tried with the provided headphones and 2 others.

By the way, when i try to download pc companion i get a 0 bytes file using IE or firefox.

Thank you for answering.

Hello Sir,

Does updating the software of the handset improve audio quality? How does it affect audio quality Sir?

I never tested the audio quality before updating. The first thing i did when i bought the phone was update to the latest software.

As i wrote before it's not exactly hiss, but more a buzz, which can only be heard on a very quiet enviroment like home. Yesterday i opened the phone, removed both memory/sim card and after putting all together the buzz was gone. But when i repetead the procedure the buzz was back. So i don't think it's a software related problem.

Everything else is working fine.
