Sony XAV-AX100 Volume Issue

Hi all

I have two Sony XAV-AX100 car radios, one in my car and the other in my van.

Both have a very annoying problem. After using blue tooth audio, the volume button will not work when using the tuner.

Has anyone else got this problem?

Hi sparrowdclxvi,

are your devices up to date and running the latest firmware?

Hi Peter

Yes, both units have the latest firmware.

Here is a video showing the issue:

Have you also tried factory resetting them and then checking again?

Hi Joe

Yes, many times.

If I reset it to factory settings, it will work for a while, and then this will happen again.

I think it's when I connect to blue tooth, but it may be when I use Android Auto/Car Play.

I haven't had the time to check which it is.

Have you tried multiple devices? Since this is basically a connection issue, it might be the cable or the external device causing it, you can also try completely reinstalling it in case there were any interfering wires or the like, but this is very extreme so I'd do that last.

I have two radios, one in my daily, one in the van.

I have tried both an Android device and an Apple device.

I have the same problem with both radios, irrespective of device.

Resetting to factory settings allows the radio to work until a certain sequence of events happens, and then the volume stops working for the tuner only.

I have a case open with Sony, but the response is simply send it for repair, when it cannot be repaired.

As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating as I have two radios that don't work properly
